Velamma's father, Velan, is a Private Taxi Driver who supports his family by driving his taxi. Velamma is the only daughter in the family and is totally dependent on her father. Velammal has a strong attachment with her father, she washes her father daily, prepares food for him and waits for him to come back from work everyday.Everyday Velan goes to work via a short-cut jungle area where he picks up passengers. One day while returning from work, he finds an elderly blind lady called Peruvazhagi who had lost her way in the forest area. He drops her at the bus stop, helps her board the bus and then continues on with his work. That night when Velan returns home, he finds that Velamma has prepared his favourite meal for him. He feels grateful for this act of kindness by Velamma and praises her to which she replies that he is the person who deserves all the praise. Velamma's father hugs her in joy and thanks her for preparing such a delicious food. When he wakes up next morning, he finds Velamma missing from her bed. He goes out in search of his beloved daughter in panic but is unable to find any trace of her. Velan spends the rest of the day roaming around the village in search of his daughter. When he returns home at night, he finds Velamma waiting for him at their residence. He is overjoyed to see her and asks her how she found her way back to their house. To which she replies that someone must have brought her back home. Velan can't believe his ears and wonders who could have brought back his precious daughter. When Velan tries to ask her about what happened to her, she assures him that she is fine and did not want to worry him. Stunned by this, Velan tries to understand what happened to his daughter. Velamma tells him that she had a dream where he gave her a bunch of flowers, which she wanted very badly. But due to the fact that he was so deep in thought at work one day, he did not bring the flowers for her. Velamma goes on telling her father about this dream and tells him how it affected other people in the village who went through similar dreams while awake as well.
